Google

You know how people and Forbes have said that Google is the number 1 place to work... well it's all true. On Friday, I had the opportunity to enter the premise of Google's NY office. Below are some of the things I saw at Google...

Commodore 64
Apple II
Texus Instrument game console
Lego Land
10 mini snack rooms (filled with delicious organic snacks and drinks)
p.s. I ate a Luna bar and felt extra lady-like.
2 cafeteria's (at least 1 had a sushi chef)
1 play room

To say the least, my senses were overwhelmed in Google. I, along with 1.2 Billion others, want into that place. Hopefully, they'll open up an office in Philly.

Later on friday, I went to Cisco... here's a teaser of the TelePresence device we saw.

Today I went for a hair cut at Mark Anthony's in the Italian Market. However, he was closed, so I decided to spend that money on other items in the Market. Stops were made at, Superior Pasta, Sarcones, meat place, Di Bruno Bros, and some other street venders. All in all, I purchase 6 items that I didn't need.

Thanks to all those that voted in the food poll. I highly recommend you all try the famous cookies and a Sarcone's hoagie.

Here's is what you voted for...

3rd Place (Jim's)
1st Place (Pretzel)
T-4th (Famous 4th Street cookies)
T-4th (Sarcone's Deli Hoagie)
2nd Place (Lorenzo's Pizza)

Well, I must go prep for Monday... as Garfield would say "Stupid Mondays."

Career Week

So last week was quite full. Finance is harder than I thought it would be... which just means that I must put in that much more effort.

This week is "Career Week". There will be company visits to ...
Philly
ExcelleRX
Deloitte
DC
International Monetary Fund
Gallup Organization
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
NY
Google
Bloomberg
Deutsche
Cisco
NBC

Plus we will have a couple of networking events, as well as a mock behavioral interview.
This week will be very beneficial and will also give me time to catch up and even get ahead in my work.

Last night I had my first French experience since returning from there. I had a triple date at Nick and Quoc's place and we ate some delicious French food, wine and champagne.

Here's Katie and Quoc (The best designer at Urban Outfitter) eating Hanky Pankies (not French, but delicious). The goods that went onto the chicken. The magic dinner table.

Quick Update

School has definitely been taken to a new level here in Philly.

On the plan this week...

2 tests
1 paper
1 CEO speaker
3 or 4 meetings
some free time (maybe?)

This past Thursday, the MBA Student association threw a Chinese Dumpling Making event...

Must go study.

Super Bowl Sunday

I love Super Bowl Sunday! Although, this year was a bit different because I had ample school work to do and on top of that, the game was BORING!

Also, I cannot believe the Giants pulled off a victory. I foresee annoying NY friends making outrageous comments that have no real merit.

Anyway, if you missed any of the commercials this year, they are on the internet @...

Yesterday I was in New York city at a stop along the world MBA tour. It is similar to a career fair, but for perspective MBA students. I had a fun time representing the Fox school and discussing the International MBA program.
and here are the girls cleaning each other...I realize this next one is borderline disturbing, but it's part of life.

Vote Now!

Everyone should vote for their favorite Philly food to the left.

Did You Know

- Pennsylvania Hospital is the oldest hospital in the United States

- Back in the day, surgeries were performed from 11am-2pm inside for optimal light. They were conducted outside the rest of the time when the sun was still up.

- If you are still using an antenna "rabbit ears" on top of your TV, STOP! 1st, it's no longer cool. 2nd, https://www.dtv2009.gov/

- Who remembers Upham from Saving private Ryan... well he just landed in Lost.

- Auntie Anne's Pretzels (not to be confused with the healthier Philadelphia kind) will be serving free pretzels tomorrow (2/2) from 10am-4pm. http://www.auntieannes.com/

- It is really hard to find Gluten free food in Philadelphia. The one place designated for that (Mr Ritt's) is closed everyday except weekends. Does that make sense? They do have good stuff though.

- I am going to NYC tomorrow to represent The Fox Business School at the Blue World MBA Tour.

- On the topic of New York, I think I have to side with the NE Patriots on this game. Here is my reasoning... NY Giants fans are all the same, obnoxious. I'll give you that Philly fans are rowdy, but NY Giants fans will never let a Super Bowl victory go. We (I don't mean Philly people, I mean everyone and their 11-teenth cousin) will never hear the end of it. I don't think I have enough brain power, time or life in me to listen to Giants fans ramble on about how great Eli is. At the risk of becoming too "blogger" like, I will stop this rant.

I must go enjoy some of Katie's fine tasting challah. Peace in the ME.
