Delayed

In about an hour, my plane should have been landing in Beijing. However, I am not on that plane. The United airline plane never took off and is sitting at Dulles (IAD) airport.

At 12:31 pm, when everyone had boarded the plane, they told us that there would be an hour delay as they fixed a piece of the plane. Well, that hour turned into three, and then it turned into... well I will let you know tomorrow. It seems as though the flight will take off tomorrow at 10am (June 21). 22.5 hours after the original flight. This will really bite into my time in Beijing.

The good thing about this situation is/was...

1. They put me up in the Hyatt.
2. I got to see my brother, sister-in-law, her parents
3. We ate at Fogo de Chao
4. I'll eat a sweet Hyatt buffett meal for breakfast
5. I'm watching Bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme
   

The bad...

1. My luggage stayed on the plane overnight. United would not let us have our bags. Seems iligal right?
2. They gave us a $10 voucher for dinner & $5 for breakfast. Not even the Grand Hyatt Egypt had meals for this cheap.
3. I will miss a day of China
4. I spent $155 to get back and forth between D.C.
5. United Customer service is useless
6. I spent 7 hours at the Dulles airport.
7. I'm watching bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme
